Resin brake pads can be used for all riding conditions and are a good pad that lasts and can withstand heat with little fade. They work straight away without need to warm up.
The nearly pure metal construction of sintered brake pads provides a stable coefficient of friction from hot to cold. This cuts down on warm-up time and the pads will produce good bite right away. They can also handle the extreme heat from a lot of brake use and will not fade.
The metal also means the brake pads will last for a longer time in comparison to the resin pads.
